Ducks make awesome pets!! I have an Indian Runner Duck in my home. She wears a diaper harness so I don't have to worry about poo. She goes just about everywhere with me and loves to sit on my lap. I recommend doing some research first, but they do make great pets. I would rather have my duck than any dog or cat. Check out these links for some more good info!!

Ducks are big responsibilities. You have the choice for two types of duckes, Wild or Tamed, either are hard to take care of. Wild pets can be dangerous and bite alot. Tame have small risks for danger, either still hard to take care of. You need the correct equipment, food and you should have experience on a smaller pet at first. Like a hamster, fish, dog,or cat. Choosing a wild animal as a pet, such as a duck, is a big decision. Talk to your vet and find out more! =)

Ducks, they are kinda cute but did you know some can be kinda dangerous? Some are kinda of wild, it all depends of course what type of duck it is. I can tell you something though, I know someone, a friend, who had a duck who was supposed to be a wild duck but this friend of mine had it since it was a baby duck (like maybe a couple days born duckie) so it grew with her and all so it got used to her and her family and actually it was a great pet. Good Luck!

Well, let me start off by saying that duck crap is gross! Hehe. I know how the drink "duck fart" got it's name. And if you don't hose it off before it sets in, you've got to scrub it off. They are adorable, but they are a responsibility. Ducks can take care of themselves in the right environment. If your yard is big enough and you have a creek or some sort of constant water source, they could be relatively low maintenance, and you could just enjoy feeding them.
Another thing to keep in mind is that they can fall prey to our househould pets. Dogs and cats love to take ducks and their little ducklings out to dinner. If you become attached, you might consider building them a large enclosure with chicken wire and 2x4s, and a sort of shed they can hide in if they feel threatened.

They are awesome to have as pets, you learn to love them a lot. Just make sure there aren't any predators that can get the duck.
