Per Barbara Walters, Star not being ask to come back is because she fell out of grace with fans due to not sharing her weightloss secrets and her "bridezilla episode". On the other hand, Star has said that Barbara has never directly discussed anything with her regarding the decision not to renew her contract and that everything went through her agent. What is your opinion on this matter. Please only serious answers and no racial comments. Thank you guys for your cooperation in advance. The best thoughtful answer wins!!!!!!

My opinion is this: I really don't understand what the big deal was with Star, as far as a person and a celebrity. I think people tend to forget that before she became part of the View, she was, (and still is) an educated and very smart prosecutor, in Brooklyn I believe. From what I can see, she's always been a diva. Her parents always told her that she could be or do anything that she wanted, and they always told her that she was beautiful. And so I think she's always been a confident and self-assured woman. I read someone's comments about her not giving back to the community. Well I think some people need to do their research. If you knew any better, you would know that Star is involved in many worthwhile causes, that empower others, especially women. So I'm not sure where that person was coming from with that. I think we expect people to be perfect. Who is to say that Barbara Walters doesn't have any issues? She could be just as much of a b**** as the next person! Yet so many people want to take her side. I guess I'm saying all of this to say that Star Jones-Reynolds, in my humble opinion, is a smart, talented, and confident woman. If anything, she bought more excitement to the View. She was with the show for nine years, and she's always been a diva; now all of a sudden, because she starts getting the notoriety and the fame, the 'haters' want to come out. I thought the producers were supposed to come to her and warn her first, if they really felt she was worth keeping around. I don't want to sound racist myself, and I don't want to play the race card; but I do sometimes wonder how the situation would have played out if she were of another ethnicity? Also, I think bringing Rosie O'donnell on is a HUGE mistake. She sucks big time! I think she's soooo corny. I read that someone asked, what was Star's talents? I think the question should be, what is Rosie's talent? Because she has none, as far as I'm concerned. And I think she was just jealous of Star anyway. And one more thing: I don't think it was ANYONE's business how Star lost the weight. Period! And if the average person lost weight, or went through a dramatic change in their physical appearance, they would change too. So we need to stop judging others so quickly, and take a good look at ourselves. And she did not lie! She said she had a MEDICAL INTERVENTION. anyone with common sense should have known that was referring to surgery.

I really think the fact of the matter is, that when Star was heavy, it made all of the other women feel good to sit next to her. When you have someone next to you that is twice your size, you always feel good about how you look. When star lost her weight, (and in my opinion, who cares how she did it, surgery or not) and she was feeling good, it made all the other women feel threatened. Yes, the weight loss I am sure gave Star a new found attitude. I'm sorry, if you all lost over 150 pounds, you would act different too. As far as the wedding stuff, yes, it was a little over done, and shoved down the throats of the viewers. Star knows this just as well as everyone else, and I am sure she regrets it. I will say this though. I use to watch the View all the time. Now that Star is gone, something is missing. There is a different feel to the show, and I just don't like it. I can only imagine that the ratings have dropped. Barbara along with ABC should have thought twice about letting her go. I only hope that Star does something great now, and doesn't just fall to the side and become an ex-celeb.

I feel that the network was justified in their decision to not renew Star Jones' contract. Her weight loss issues/questions, the "sponsored" tacky wedding fiasco did not seem to be in keeping with the network. As far as Barbara Walters not conversing with her regarding the contract renewal. Isn't that why they hire agents so that the "details" are ironed out by them. If she has a gripe regarding her contract renewal, maybe she should look towards her agent. For the last year or so, she turned into Kathy Lee Gifford - all she could talk about was her husband and we the audience quickly grew fed up with this. Even at the end, when she could have made a graceful exit - she chose to make it an explosive, embarrassing situation for herself, the show, and the other ladies as well. I can tell you if I had to sit through and listen to her talk about her "wonderful marriage" one more day - I would have gone down there myself to can her!

I am personally glad that Star is gone. I am one viewer who stopped watching when she became such a diva. In my opinion she acted like she was better then everyone else. She wasn't as down to earth as some of the other co-hosts are. I do give my props to her for losing the weight that she did. I also think that if Barbara didn't discuss the issues she had with Star then there is a communication issue there. If you had to discuss something with someone would you go to their mother? No you would go to the person. So why was everything handled through the agent. Who's fault was that? I think there is alot of she said she said stuff going on here. The fact is Star is gone. No one will ever no the real reason why and to be honest with you I don't care I just hope she doesn't pop up on some of the other daytime talk shows I enjoy unless she changes her diva attitude and comes back to earth with the rest of us.

I was never a fan of Star Jones and I never liked the View. After watching Star on Larry King I do believe her about what happened on the View. I say good for her that she had the courage to stand up to Barbara Walters. Shouldn't we be questioning the integrity of the powers that be at the View including Barbara Walters for telling her to make up a story that they would back as to why she wasn't returning to the show. Her departure may have made for good ratings to follow but the bottom line is the View still sucks and they can't blame it all on Star.

I enjoyed watching the view every morning, All the hosts were wonderful, But my favorite was Star Jones. Barbara Walters should of handled the departure of Star Jones with respect and grace,But she didn't, After 9 years on the view Star was treated like a out cast. Her weight loss was her business not the view or the worlds, and she looks great. Star Jones was a great asset to the view and she will be missed. PS (I smell envy)

Star Jones needs a lesson. A lesson on how NOT to toot your own horn. She talks about herself so much that it's just sickening. I don't think the view is much more than an extremely annoying hen fest, but it's got to get a little better without Star Jones. She has nothing interesting to say. Her contribution to the View, or anything else for that matter, is zilch. She yaps on and on and on about things that concern only her. If she was a coworker of mine in the real world, she would be the one everyone talked bad about. Nobody cares about her wedding, except maybe her friends. Nobody cares about her opinion on Barbara Walters. I'm not a big fan of Walters, either, but she does have a certain respect in the reporting and journalism community. Star, on the other hand? Nothing. Her leaving The View is little more than a blip on the radar that has been blown COMPLETELY out of proportion. Who cares? She wasn't doing her job! She didn't discuss issues in real life. She just seemed to want to talk about herself. Her battle with weight? GREAT! What woman in America DOESN'T have an ongoing battle with weight? However, most American women can't afford "doctor's intervention". They work hard by working out and eating healthy. And they aren't constantly talking about it. Most overweight women want to be left alone. When they lose the weight, they are happy for themselves. If others notice, fabulous. Star seems to feel as though people actually care that she "didn't" have surgery. Sorry, but America isn't that stupid. I'm tired of hearing her whine and complain. She could have it a lot worse. She seems to trying to extend her 15 minutes of partial fame, and I think I speak for a LOT of people when I say...I HOPE IT'S ALMOST OVER! Hopefully, her absence from The View will be the first stepping stone in not having to hear anything about her. She's annoying.

I believe ABC exec's were right on the money not to renew Star's contract. In the television/movie business world where wealth among the 'stars' is in excess, for Star to receive freebies to fund her wedding was shameful! Star was most likely paid very well at the View. Plus she was a spoke person for Payless Shoes, and a successful lawyer prior to her joining the View. All of that added to her personal wealth. Star had the means to pay for her own wedding. She should have at least made several donations to numerous charities that are in need, to redeem herself to the public eye for being so greedy. It didn't help her image to berate her fellow co-workers when discussing who can come to her wedding, or why was the place cards moved at her reception. To say she was behaving like a bridezilla was an understatement!!
Star's weight loss was also a contributing factor for the Viewer fans to lose respect for her. By not discussing it as the weight came off, she didn't give the viewers that are dealing with weight issues, a chance to respond to her in a more positive way.
In the early days of the 'View', she was someone everyone could relate to. But as the years went by, we lost the genuine spirit of Star Jones. And in the end, there was someone else in her place that we just could not relate to anymore.

Star Jones commited career suicide with her actions, both previous and present. There is an old proverb that says, "Don't bite the hand that feeds you". Well, that is exactly what she did, but what she doesn't realize is that the hand she bit belongs to perhaps the second most powerful woman in all of show business. (next to Oprah of course) America loves Barbara Walters, they have laughed together and cried together. When Barbara is unhappy with something or someONE, America is too. I think it's safe to say that in the very near future, the only time we will hear the name Star Jones, is either in the tabloids or perhaps one day some rediculous reality show for former celebrities.

I can't worry about Jones or Walters. I have my own life to attend to. I am actually tired of Star and her husband. Her image tarnish with me when she had her over the top wedding. She has said so herself that she has used her status to get what she wanted. She should use that power to help struggling people in the world. She should have used her satus when the hurricane hit last august. She should us her status to start educational funding for college bound students. It is very expensive to go to college. I was never really a fan of her and I really don't care for her now. Since her weight loss her attitude has somewhat changed. She was kind cool and nice back then but now she has a bit of an attitude. There are way more inportant things to talk about than watching Barbara ans Star fued on television. That just shows what we as a society entertain. Yes there should be entertainment but I don't think this needs to be talked about anymore. My friend and her boss got into it and no one is talking about that. People should pay more attention to there personal lifes then the lives of people in the spot light. If we didn't pay attention to this little drama, then it would not be talked about

Personally, I never cared for Star Jones on the View, however, I think that her leaving the show will neither hurt it or help it. The show will continue to do well because of the strong personalities of Joy, Barbara, Elizabeth and now Rosie. When they have guest hosts the show is just as good. It makes no difference who is on, because the ladies are always entertaining. The show will remain solid and the ladies will continue to be a popular talk show.
