ProActiv is wonderful and a dermatologist visit is key - IF you can afford them.
If you can't, then you can go to Wal Mart and buy a system called "Acne Free" that looks like the ProActiv bottles and has the same ingredients. It even comes with a free tube of a pimple blaster cream that works WONDERS!
I've used the whole system, which cost about $15, for a month now and the only time I break out is when I miss a couple of days.
One caveat, though - if your skin gets dry from using the whole system twice a day, then only use Step #3 (the little bottle) at night; otherwise, all that itching will lead to red skin - NOT pretty!
I wouldn't scrub OR try to strip your skin of all oils because
a) you need the natural oils in your skin to protect it from sun and aging, etc. and
b) a scrub only aggravates acne by tearing up the epidermis (outer surface of your skin).
I've used Noxema (made me break out worse), alcohol products (strong astringents), Benz products (too harsh for my sensitive skin) and everything else under the sun.
You may have sensitive skin and not even know it!
Good luck!

Go to a dermatologist. Don't waste money on over the counter treatments or facials. I had terrible acne and suffered with it as a youth. As soon as I got old enough to get some money of my own I went to a dermatologist and he put me on a type of anti biotic and gave me some special stuff to wash my face. Within weeks I could not believe the way my face looked. I thanked God for it because it was the first time in my life I could face people and feel good about the way my skin looked. It was worth every single penny I paid to go the the doctor.
Go see a dermatologist please as they are trained to get your skin healed and keep from scarring. I know you will not regret it and I am sure there are a lot of reasonably priced and knowledgeable ones in your area.

Benzoyl Peroxide works well. If you have oily skin you can use the 10% cream and it will fix the oilyness. If your skin gets dry, use cetaphil. Drink 6-8 glasses of water and take echinacea, zinc, or vitamin A tablets and it will clear up, I promise. Good Luck!!!!!

well first off, how often do you wash your face? if you wash it everyday try cutting it down to every other day. the more you wash your face, the more oil your skin produces. also make sure you getting enough water (oranges and other citricy foods are good for your skin too) making sure you remove your make-up everynight before you go to sleep, helps a lot too.
here is a link that you can try for more tips,

Seventeen magazine also has a special on skin care with lots of products you can buy for cheap at drugstores.
good luck!

Go to Doctor. My sister used some medication that rids the body of oil glands in a couple months and then you should not have to take the medicine anymore. It works well

go see a specialise to find out what is the main cause, he / she will know what's best for you! don't try anything on your own, it may worsen your face.
