Sounds like exactly what happened to me after my 1st born. If she gave birth naturally, she may have a peranial tear which would've needed stitches. I did the silly thing & tried to move house 6 weeks after the birth (that didnt cause the problem, but it did weaken it) so when I became intimate with my husband that night, it re-opened & made me bleed very heavily ... rushed to the hospital & had to undergo an operation to re-stitch.
Not very plessant, Hope I didn't worry you more, but I turned out ok! She is at the best place to be atm anyhow.

That happened to me after I had my little girl. The reason why I started bleeding so bad was I travelled for about 3 hours one day. I didn't call the doctors, I just realized that was too much for me to do in one day and laid down to rest for a while. Not sure if this is the same problem with her or not.

That happened to my mom after she gave birth to me. They called it hemridging. All of the placenta did not come out after I was born so she had to go back into the hospital and get a DNC. This was over thirty years ago. She was completely fine after. Your friends mom might have something similar to this.

Its hard to say what is wrong, but if they say she is ok. then she must be ok. There are so many possibilities I hate to try to pinpoint the problem.
