What does "red mist" mean, in terms of soccer/football? I keep reading about Zidane and Rooney's "Red Mist."

Since both Zidane and Rooney were sent off in their matches, I assume the red refers to the color of the card?

It's similar to the expression "see red" as a description of what happens when you get so angry you have to hit somebody, a loss of control, a temper tantrum.
