Neither item has a transformer, just a plug for which I can get a 3 prong adapter easily. To get a proper power converter is expensive. Also, cos of the PAL/NTSC conflict will a Japanese DVD player work in the UK anyway? I know already that it plays UK DVDs.

If the voltage is set right then you should be fine using a plug adapter. Just make sure that any voltage going into the device is absolutely compatible with what the device requires for voltage. Usually nothing will happen if you have the wrong voltage but if it gets too much voltage you could blow something in the piece of electronics.

The DVD player is a different concept. As far as the video signal, I'm not sure what happens with PAL/NTSC since I have never used PAL. As far as it working, same thing with the voltage being correct. If you get the video to work then you're lucky. Usually the whole thing with PAL and NTSC applies to the media only and not so much to the TV itself. Again I don't know much on PAL NTSC conversion. Usually though new TVs don't have much of a problem with signals of different types.

in case you plug it into the wall you'll blow out the potential grant. that's going to wreck it. Get a potential converter and by no potential for get to apply it. I easily have ruined a number of issues because they were moved to a unique room and then I purely plugged them in and !!! lengthy gone. that's going to fry in 10 seconds or a lot less! an determination determination is to take it in and characteristic the technician replace the potential grant contained in the field to compare the voltage the position you stay. that must be the most accessible and possibility-free way, yet no longer the most inexpensive. ;-D strong success.
