Okay well my boyfriend tells me that he loves me. He told me that the first time he said it he didn't mean it which was a few years back but now he says he means it. He shows me in every way but sometimes I'm unsure since he told me that he didn't mean it the first time he said it. He's not afraid to show it in front everyone he's always all hugged up on me and telling me that he loves me. So what do you think?

I think you are too hung up on that one time.
If he shows it in every way ... go by the actions honey, they speak far louder than any words.

If he is under the age of 28. He don't even know what he's supposed to do in a real loving relationship. Make it natural and easy for him if you two are young. You be a Lady. He will fall in line as a gentleman.

He loves you. Some people grow to love each other. It is very possible that he did not love you at first and now he does. Actions speak louder than words if he is showing you then I'd say he loves you.

He may have told you that he loves you early on just so he wouldn't lose you.If he didn't love you now,he wouldn't go out of the way to show you in front of everyone.

Sounds like he's trying really hard to make you believe that HE REALLY LOVES YOU NOW. It's hard when he fakes his love to you the first time. You lose trust in the relationship. But how you described him--- showing his affection for you in public and stuff, it seems like he truly means it now when he says he loves you.

So you have an idea, to say is not the main thing.My husband tells that he loves me, it sounds like a " how arer you doing?" type of phrase.Just to make a conversation.you will really know that he loves you or not when you look deep into his eyes.there is no need to words on this case and will will know .

I would say he does. I mean, the guy came clean with you about lying the first time....that took some nerve...most guys would not have went that far. If thats not love, what is?

I think that he thinks he did not mean it the first time because, in retrospect, his feelings for you have grown. Then again, who knows. You and your friends should be able to tell if he does or not.
