If you believe in evolution, that means that you believe that some races are more advanced than others and that black people are the closest we have to monkeys today.

Where did you learn that bullshit. I cant believe the stuff some of people come out with. Remember man, the whole world has access to this stuff. Do you really want to look like a pratt, do you really believe this rubbish, or are you playing someone. I have an education so I can think and, believe in Jesus and evolution. It was proven (fairly recently I think) that there is no genetic difference between the currently existing races on earth. In fact calling us seperate races might even be dumb. Imagine that, you're as black as a white man, red as an asian, yellow as an Australian Aboriginal (they are blue black - what an amazing colour)... Or maybe just plain old bigoted you !!!

No I did not know that. You are the first sage to impart such wisdom on me. After having read your question, I have become thoroughly convinced of creationism. I used to believe in evolution, but I always felt that there were no real races, let alone superior ones. I had always assumed we all came from Africa, and the deviation of the so-called races were merely a result of geological location, related breeding, and diet, forming pigmentation and varying groups with particular characteristics. I thought anthropologists were so smart, but now you have enlightened me and I realize they were wrong. Thank you. I now realize that we were all created and there is a definitive genetic deviation between races that seperates people almost as though we are of different species. Wow, my eyes are so open now. God really DID stick his magic fingers in the dust and... *poof*... up jumped Adam. Then his rib was removed by this invisible being and formed into a female. Okay. I get it now. That makes so much more sense.

That's if you consider an evolution within humans be be considered "advanced" and due to the gene pool being so huge, it's hard to get a collective group to be "advanced"

"One step up" on the evolutionary ladder doesn't necessarily mean that you are "advanced"

Black is quite a dominant gene. i.e. the affects of interracial breeding is like breeding out the genetic defects in dogs. So you cannot consider black people to be closest to monkeys when it is possible to jump around and have black ancestry and still look non-black through breeding selections.

I think you are full of it. I bet you just thought that up yourself.
Why would black people be closest to monkeys? if you believe in evolution, you believe that every race of humans evolved in ways specific to their environments. For example, Africans have darker skin pigmentation because the sun is so hot in Africa -- the dark pigmentation helps prevent burning. And the closest primate to humans is the Chimpanzee, not any species of monkey.

Thanks for bringing that up. Believing evolution does SEEM to say that. But I know a lot of black people who are probably smarter than the smart person posing the question. So I don't know that believing in evolution really says anything about that.

Anyway... we will all be porking one another in due time... enough to erase any TRADITIONAL concept of race and making the comparison meaningless... The relatively (in the face of the pace of evolution) little time it will take to get there makes the question meaningless anyway.

The questioner's claim is absurd; it shows a complete lack of understanding of how evolution works. Genetic variations leading to racial differences will arise in separated populations, but that does not show that any of those populations is more "advanced" than any other. Intelligence arose before the separation, as can be seen from the FACT that there are no demonstrable differences between races beyond skin color.

no, it doesn't. it means that you believe blacks were left with the leftovers after everyone else move out to different places and thus did not have the resources to advance the way that some other cultures did. I suggest you read Guns, Germs, and Steel by Jared Diamond. It's really good, and his arguments make a lot of sense. Blacks are just as close to monkeys as whites, asians, or anyone else.

That has to be the most ridiculous thing I've read so far today. If you really think that, please tell me where asians fit into your equasion? Why can penguins survive in sub arctic temperatures but not robins???

Could it at all be possible that we are different today because people have adapted to different conditions... just like animals???

And if you still think your theory is true... I would assume you are thinking white people are the furthest thing from monkey's, and that white people are the most evolved, whats next??? in another 1000 years will we be CLEAR!?

Heres a thought, you should not reproduce.

...just my two cents

I believe Evolution, but have never thought of it as some races becoming more advanced. Thank you for the thought, but to me 'Evolution' is all things continuing to change/adapt.

First of all monkey's and humans are only related by a distant common ancestor. Humans did not come from monkeys. And today different races are specifically adapted to their home geographical region. Not better just different. . .
