The tattoo ( in theory) has ink that goes down far enough that a scrap will not do anything to it. You are constantly losing the outer layer of skin, yet tattoo remains. If you do get a cut, scrape deep enough to gouge out the ink, it would not grow back.

It depends on how deep the scrapping off goes. Dermabrasion is a method of removing tattoos where they literally scraped off. They remove the layer of skin that contains the tattoo (as well as the layers above it).

Deep scratches can effect a tattoo, but surface scratches should have no effect at all.

NO, but you would have to get scraped pretty bad to remove a tattoo. The ink is in the last layers of skin and lasts a life time although to keep them looking good they need to be touched up every so often, this depends on how you take care of them and how good your tattooist was that put them on.

That tattoo goes real deep, that's why you shed skin over years and years and it's still there. Scrape away.
