I don't understand how it could be one or the other only. It seems that you could be too smart and I could be too smart too. Or you could be too stupid and I could be to stupid too. The idea that one is dependent on the other is irrational.

Assuming the implication of your statement is valid, i.e. one or the other condition must exist, you must be too smart. My conclusion is based on the fact that I know I am not too stupid.
