For the purposes of the question, assume (not hard to do considering their track record) that the libertarian party, the green party, and other fringe parties are not VIABLE third political parties.

I'm hoping for something novel, original, and perhaps even as yet unheard of!

You want to form a viable third party the first thing is to step out of the made up issues. Lets face it gay marraige is easy to solve. Set up a Union structure that legalizes a form of gay marriage but without quite the same rights, same with poligamy. I covered this in detail. It is the emotionalism and the stirring up of these emotions which causes rifts. Before long somebody will die over this issue as too equally fanatic opposites meet up on the issue. Few of the so called issues really have that much meaning today. Especially if you were to attack the real issues.

So it would not be anti or pro big Gov. A viable third party would recognize the function of Government and the way the Constitution meant for it to be as best applied to a modern society.

First if it is a victemless crime ditch the law. Gambling, prostitution, poligamy, gun control, possession of certain drugs. You get the idea. All gone. Without such laws you could drastically reduce law enforcement and release a large chunk of the prison population.

Second real tax reform. Ditch the whole tax industry. It is a leach upon our economy. Every penny spent on tax preperation is an expense and hurts the US economy. It is there to make people rich by providing no real service or value to the economy. It is make believe circulation of money but at a cost. Think of Gov spending and related expenses like buying something on credit. Ifyou buy it outright there is no interest on your money so your money goes farther and you can buy more real goods/services. Gov employees and people employed in dealing with Gov regulations provide no product. They are interest on your money you could say. They are money lost. The returns are too little to be of use, the losses real and noticable. Thats money that could be spent buying a house, which then means they have more money without a house note to buy siding, AC, paint, hobbies, etc. All real goods. Each of which when purchased makes it cheaper to manufacture those same goods. Which in turn makes the provider more competitive in the US and to a lessor extent the world market. Gov employees and services have no significant world market except some very specialized instances. By it's very nature Gov endeavors are going ot be inefficient and bloated. Again more money lost.

So by restructuring the tax system to almost or completely elimanate brackets, exemptions and other insanity you can remove %90 of the IRS. Free again more people from prison. For tax evasion except in extreme cases why do we put them in prison? Is this not counter productive. Make them work off the taxes instead. This way you both get taxes out of them and do not have to spend MORE tax dollars taking care of them. Imprisoning tax offenders is like burning yourself and applying a hot iron to the burn.

The US budget could easily be cut by %50-75 without any real loss in services. We could wipe out the deficiet AND cut taxes. While this would also mean quite a few unemployed it would also mean a huge economic boom where many of those umemployed would find equivalent or better jobs rather quickly.

Take CARE OF THE PEOPLE. Niether party does anything to help a non-constituant. They buy votes rather blatently. Health care is a huge issue and both parties are just making it worse. Case in point half or more of the costs of medical care today are insurance processing costs. We are literally drowning in paperwork. Illegals and the poor are two other major issues. Litigation is a third major issue. The rare but unfortunate incident of a malicious or blatently incompentent medical practicioner is another. Docs are human and they will occasionally make a mistake. Those that practice active negligence are quite rare but also very difficult to force out of practice. This leaves the door wide open for litigation which is badly hurting the rest of the medical field. So many Docs settle just because it is cheaper than going to court. How do you balence that with keeping access open for people legitimately wronged by a medical practicioner? That is a key issue for medical care today. How do you provide good, reasonably priced medical care for the poor? It isn't with national health care socialism. The cost of health care has skyrocketed BECAUSE of insurance and Gov programs. So Democraps want to add more fuel to that problem. Repugnicans want to ignore it, yet thousands die each year from inadequite health care. Millions around the world die from cures that are within our reach but not explored because it is not super profitable for drug companies and the US will not fund research into those areas. Lets get serious about health care. There is no excuse for anyone in this nation to not have good timely health care. Our Vets suffer in less than top quality hospitals waiting in line for months or even sometimes to the point where they die or suffere irrepairable damage. Why? So tackling health care and providing real answers is a quick way to get elected because it affects us all rich and poor.

Corruption is strangling the US economy. We are exporting our livelyhoods. If we do not turn things around soon we are heading for third world conditions in the US. This is a nation that will not tolerate such conditions. To push us much farther in this direction is literally suicide as millions will die in a second US Cival war. Repercussions would resound around the world in such a conflict. We'd emerge to a world we barely recognized. We need productive jobs that lead to exports and less reliance on forign anything. There are some ways to kick start manufacturing in the US.

We have to deal with illegal imigration. The solutions are not that hard. Do not know why it is even a contraversy. We do need more legal imigration. We need those people hungry for a better life and filled with zeal and ambition. We need those people who want to come here and be Americans.

Bilingual, multi-lingual is just a way of saying soak it to the taxpayer and devide the nation. You are here, you are American BE American. We don't ask much. Loyalty to the nation above all other nations. speak English. Adopt a strong work ethic. Take pride in yourself and what you do. Remember your heritage but more important, you came here, by doing so you gave up that heritage to gain a new one. To be American which is greater than any of our previous heritages. American is what you should be most proud of being. By being American that guy next to you who is a different color, religion and whatever else. That guy if American has more in common with you than the people in the nation you came from or that your anscestors came from.

Lets be realisitic about our forign policy. Fight terrorism but not be terrorists or bullies. When we fight a war lets fight to win! War is nasty biz. It's to be avoided if possible, if not possible then fight it like you mean it.

Anyway that's just a start of the basic planks. People are tired of lies and bs from both sides. About the complete lack of logic used by both parties.

You cut it down quite a bit by eliminating the libertarian, green and 'other fringe parties (communist party, constitution party, reform party, that hindu party etc)'.

Since you've eliminated the small government party (Libertarian) I would say the other party would be the opposite...some sort of combination of facism and communism (the Green party being closest but they at least claim they want some freedoms).

They certainly wouldn't call it the "Authoritarian Party". They'd shield themselves under some feel good reason why they're oppressing everyone...like for the environment or for the children or Christianity or something along those lines. Their methods would be similar to the worst in both Republican and Democratic Parties of raising spending and taxes, passing laws that chip away at our freedoms.

It would also seek to centralize as much power into the fewest people's hands. Perhaps with a goal towards one world government ala the U.N.

The key is to find the universal and strongest 'theme' to get behind to take away our freedoms, much like the current political parties are doing (the environment, fighting terrorism), but in a more extreme way.

We won't be able to guess until the " third political party" publicize it's platform.

All the freedom of lifestyle choices that liberals want, plus all the financial freedom that conservatives want. It will be called Libertarian.

I imagine it would be: Absolutely NO abortions...unless you want one.

The right could be happy about the first half of the policy, while the left could embrace the second half. Perfect harmony.
