Part of the pleasure of eating chocolate is ascribed to the fact that its melting point is slightly below human body temperature; it melts in the mouth. Chocolate intake has been linked with release of serotonin in the brain, which is thought to produce feelings of pleasure.
Research has shown that heroin addicts tend to have an increased liking for chocolate; this may be because it triggers dopamine release in the brain's reinforcement systems – an effect, albeit a legal one, similar to that of opium
Romantic lore commonly identifies chocolate as an aphrodisiac. The reputed aphrodisiac qualities of chocolate are most often associated with the simple sensual pleasure of its consumption. More recently, suggestion has been made that serotonin and other chemicals found in chocolate, most notably phenethylamine, can act as mild sexual stimulants. While there is no firm proof that chocolate is indeed an aphrodisiac, giving a gift of chocolate to one's sweetheart is a familiar courtship ritual.

yes, it does. obviously it contains sugar, which is a carbohydrate and triggers the release of seratonin. Ingestion of carbohydrates increases the plasma ratio of tryptophan to other large neutral amino acids in man which mild has a sedative effect. Chocolate also contains fat which contributes to a feeling of fullness and therefore wellness or elevated mood. Chocolate also contains phenylethylamine which is a mild stimulant as well as theobromine which is an alkaloid with about one-tenth the stimulating effect of caffeine. Anandamide, found in chocolate has been shown to cause an effect similar to delta-9- tetrahydrocannabinol (the active ingredient in marijuana).
Given these facts and the texture and taste of the stuff, especially the really high quality types, yes it does in fact make you feel better.

I don't really know if it is a scientific fact, but some say that chocolate has a similar affect on the brain as the release of serotonin. Serotonin is the chemical that is said to boost your mood. It is the bases that many mood-disorder drugs work off of.

Yes, chocolates do make you feel better, at least temporarily. Chocolate has sugar in it, which gives you a sugar high.

According to Italian researchers, women who eat chocolate regularly have a better sex life than those who deny themselves the treat. Those consuming the sugary snack had the highest levels of desire, arousal and satisfaction from sex.
So I would say that's a definite "yes".
