Many people think Pink Floyd is one of the greatest bands ever, including friends and family of mine. I think they suck or they're just really boring. What do you think?

Do mind-expanding experiences suck?
Roger Waters MAY suck, but thats just because depressing teenagers thru music is like shooting fish in a barrel. Nevertheless some of his solo stuff rocks.
Most assuredly Gilmour, Wright & especially Nick Mason do not suck. (although gilmour's most recent work does, in my opinion, suck)
Does the pink floyd album "The Final Cut" suck? YES.
Does Syd Barrett Suck? you'll either like him or you won't. I do.
I suspect you've never beheld them in the right frame of mind. But of course, thats illegal.

It just really depends on how old you are and what kind of music your parent played when you grew up. I'm only 25. Most 25 year olds can't appreciate the classic rock. But my mom listened to all the classics when I was growing up. If you are under 25 you won't understand. If you are in your 30's or 40's, you can understand that Pink Floyd is one of the best bands ever.

Well, check out the Syd Barrett-era early Floyd for a very different band...
Most of Floyd's work avoids easy hooks and grooves, so it isn't always the easiest to get into.
As far as I'm concerned, Dark Side of the Moon and Wish You Were Here are essential rock albums. Everything else is open to argument.
Put those two albums into heavy rotation, listen to them alone with the lights out, over and over and over. You WILL be converted.

To appreciate Pink Floyd you must watch "Pink Floyd 'The Wall'" the movie. The best visuals and it gives you an understanding of their music and lyrics.

OK, here it goes. I find that they are GREAT visionary musicians (just listen to "Breathe" very loud in headphones and keep in mind that this is part of Dark Side of the Moon, which was released in the early seventies). The thing is... personally, they have an extremely depressing effect on me. I try to not listen to them on a rainy, cold November day, because I get this annoying urge to go jump off a cliff (pun intended, Cliff, lol). But that's just me. EVERYBODY I know absolutely idolizes them. With good reason.

I think they are one of the greatest bands of the older bands. They should have more bands like them now days instead of some of these bands that are coming out. Don't get me wrong, there are alot of good bands these days but alot of the older bands still sound better.

pink floyd does not suck....because it does not have lips.
however they are terrible
