At my baby shower we played a version of pin the tail on the donkey; only it was pin the baby on the stork. We also played the typical guess what type of food is in the jar, which is where you purchase baby food jars, take the labels off and everyone tries to guess what it is. One other game that was a hit was taking the parents first names and arranging their letters into names for the baby.
I hope this gives you some help in planning the shower. Congratulations to your friend.

I like the mystery guest game because it's a different twist on the standard memory games. Mystery Guest: Arrange to have someone show up at the party, in the middle of the festivities, as a crasher. Your crasher must be someone the guests don’t know. Make the person dress odd and act weird, and carry a large satchel.
As the hostess, you loudly ask the crasher’s name. You ask if she knows the mother-to-be. The guest says, “Huh, sure,” rather uncertainly. Everyone will think your baby shower has just been crashed! Sternly tell the visitor you must see her invitation. The mystery guest plops down right there on the floor and begins unloading baby things from her large satchel.
Surely this event will have everyone’s attention. Have the crasher unload the satchel piece by piece, allegedly looking for the lost invitation, which is finally the last item removed from the bag. You accept it slowly, as the “crasher” is putting everything quickly back into the bag.
Then turn to your guests, announce who this person really is, and ask everyone to take a piece of paper and write down every object in the person’s satchel. The one who can remember the most wins. At the end, take everything out again-it’s now a gift for the expectant mom.
The mystery baby food game is an old standard. You take the labels off baby food and mark them with a number. Have guests, smell/taste and try to guess what it is. (Don't use combo's.)
Herstory: You write out a humorous story, in advance of the shower. You leave blanks for some of the nouns verbs, and adjectives. At the party, you fill in the story with the words guests call out to you to create a funny story about the mother-to-be and new daddy and their life with the new baby.
This little piggy goes to market: Ask all your guests to pull out their pocket change. (Have some on hand just in case someone doesn’t have any with them.) Going around the room, state something you have never done. Each guest who HAS done what you’ve never done has to put a coin in the piggy bank.

put a whole lot of different things into a bag (not see through) about 5 items and get people to feel around and try to guess what is in there, whoever gets the closest to guessing them all gets a prize. use thigns such as, dummys, safety pin, nappy, breast pad.
u could also play spit the dummy. buy about 4-5 cheap dummys and get people to spit them out the person to spit the dummy the furthest wins a prize, also to decide who is going to play put everyones name in a hat and pull about 4-5 out before each game to decide whop plays.
i had a baby shower when i was pregnant with my son.
some prize ideas could be anything to do with babies such as bibs, socks or just small cheap things like candles, frames, chocolate bars. wrap them up so the dont know what they will get and let them decide.

My favorite game is buying a bunch of different baby foods in jars (get some really weird flavors) and pour each jar into numbered diaper and see who can guess what flavor each one is. The person who guesses all of them wins a prize!
Half the fun is watching the disgust on peoples faces when they see how bad this stuff looks in a diaper!
