My computer runs fine but when I get on the internet it takes forever to open a page if it can at all. The provider just sent someone out and they replaced the modem for the 3rd time and it ran good while they were here but an hour later it was acting up again. My neighbor has the same service and hers runs great. I checked the speed and it says it's running at 100 Mbps. It doesn't seem right. My home phone line also acts up on occasion and it runs through the same line as the modem. I am at my wits end. The company isn't helping because whenver they come out to check it they just switch out modems and it runs fine for an hour or so and then it starts up again. I checked for viruses and there are none detected. Any advice out there?

If all else fails reload your browser software

Have the phone company check the ground wires on your incoming phone line...demand it, sometimes this is what it takes...They should have run tests to make sure your phone line will support the modem...if they didn't they are very unproffesional and should be told that in no uncertain terms...

U have to delete ur temp files and cookies. And also try to check the phone line, it may be some problem. Is is also possible tht the modem wire may b damaged.

try cable modem. it seems like your copper (phone) line might be antiquated and may need updating. The phone company could always patch in a new line to use as your tele/dsl.

Computer Slow

Download and then run startup.exe at:

http://www.mlin.net/startupcpl.shtml......

Can't live without it and windows...

Then disable and/or uninstall whatever u don't need.

Other things to try:

1 - Disk Cleanup (removal of temp files, cookies, etc.)
2 - Defrag
3 - Registry Cleanup (CAN BE VERY RISKY!)
