The best routes to take are to research the process of starting a business as well as the industry you're interested in.

I recommend checking out the SBA, Entrepreneur, The Start Up Journal & Nolo. All 4 are great informational resources for the new/small business owner. I posted links for you in the source box.

Associations may be a good avenue to explore as well. These organizations will address many of the thoughts, questions and concerns you'll inevitably have as well as many you haven't anticipated yet. See the source box for some relevant links.

Research, research, research – this cannot be stressed enough. Read as much as you can about the industry. Here are some book titles that are relevant:

* Sew to Success: How to Make Money in a Home-Based Sewing Business by Kathleen Spike
* The 'Business' of Sewing: How to Start, Maintain and Achieve Success by Barbara Wright Sykes
* Marketing Your Sewing Business: How to Earn a Profit by Barbara Wright Sykes

There are plenty of free informational resources out there. Check the source box for links to articles.

Hope that helps! I wish you much success & happiness in all your ventures!

My mom sews drapes and reapholsters (sp?) furniture for an interior designer for model homes. She's also worked at wedding gown adjustments. Wedding gowns is probably easier to get involved in. There are, in bigger cities, parts of town full of taylors that may hire someone to do all sorts of things. You probably don't want to get into production, because that's the bottom of the scale of pay for the business.

Good luck

Go for the internet business, which requires less of your time and the one that will not make you feel headache with web designing, or which require IT knowledge. Second, choose the internet based company which offer you the opportunity and at the same time giving you the convenience to start the business. Third, choose the business, which does not require big money to start it.

All the above is only available from: http://www.website.ws/powercontrol
Honestly, I tried so many opportunities offered through the internet and this is the only one that really works.
PLEASE NOTE: You only will understand the whole marketing concept if you read every details & the trial period is FREE!
Remember, You CAN'T guarantee whether you will get many fish or not by spreading your net into the sea, but u CAN guarantee that there is no fish at all if you never spread your net into the sea.

"Career" is fast becoming one of the most mis-used words in the book. A 'career' is normally understood to be in a job field where there are clear steps of advancement available to you enabling you work your way up to positions of substantial responsibility and remuneration. As far as i can see those opportunities are unlikely to exist in the area you are looking at and you would be looking at a Job or Jobs that are not very well paid and with little opportunity of substantial advancement. basically, a job not a career.
