Yes... and it's not always just one person. The words 'soul mate' always brings about for me the imagery of maybe a prior life or an after life where the souls are together but not one? Does that mean that the souls are physically connected together, or that they share a universe together where no one else is around? Maybe they have the same energy pattern and don't repel one another.

My point is it's all conceptual. It might mean that you are so in tune with each other that you know what each other is really thinking. Or that you love them more than anyone else. Or that they are the only one that understands you. Maybe you choose your soul mate and don't let anyone else close enough to interfere with that bond.

I think that when you find A soul mate... not THE soul mate, you believe the same things in your heart, and walk the same path in life.

No. I am searching for or found a "Soulmate" is a convenient way of saying I am leaving you for infatuation with another. The only way to build a dream relationship is compromise with someone with whom you have chosen to build a life. A real relationship and LOVE takes 7 or more years. The use of the word love has become perverse and meaningless. Soulmates may be formed but not charted through destiny as hollywood would have us believe.

I think we all have "soul mates," but I believe some people have multiple soul mates, but they are not all people you might be in a romantic relationship with. They can be just friends - like the four women on Sex in the City.

It depends on the individual and their own beliefs. Everyone is different and approaches this topic in their own way. I feel that everyone has a soul mate out there and sometimes to find that special person, we have to love many first, e.g. go down the line until we find the right one. Your husband is nethier right or wrong in my opinion....Trent

I'm only 16, but I believe that there's just one person out there truly for you, but I also believe you can love many other people along the way.

I think that we may love many, but there are soul mates. When I was in grade 10, I met this guy and we dated until I went to college.. then he cheated on me while I was away and that was the end of that. Years.. relationships.. and children later, we met again.. dated again.. and are married, and have been happily married for years. I loved many in the time between college and when I met him again.. but he is my soul-mate.

I used to believe in soul mates, that is until I accepted that my soul mate (ex) husband not coming home until 4am for three and a half months meant that he was CHEATING. Silly naive girl!

Yes, I do! I believe that there are some people that you just connect with & they are your soulmates. I never understood the saying, "She just gets me", until I had a relationship with my soulmate. She is not longer a part of my life, but I hope to find another soulmate somewhere down life's road.
