Have you people realise that fish are dying, water are contaminated, trees are fell and replace by concrete buildings, temperature on the rise. How much more can the selfish development go? At the rate it is going, there will become a disaster where there will be no water to drink, nothing to eat, skyrocket property price as no more land to develop, etc etc. Pls everyone do something about it !!!

Human beings, being what they are, aren't going to change. I'm pretty much a fatalist, and I don't think it's going to be solved. I think the human race is doomed to die off due to depletion of necessary resources, and I think it's not that far off in the future.

The global temperature has hardly gone up any, and the world goes through normal climate change (i.e. the Ice Age and the warming trend that melted it). There are more trees in North America now than before European settlers came here. While some animals are becoming more scarce, others are flourishing. The buffalo were hunted almost to extinction, but replaced with cattle, hundreds of thousands of cattle. The world can actually support a much larger population than it has now. If you look at a map of the U.S. that shows all protected areas such as wildlife refuges, state parks, and national parks, you will see that close to a quarter of the land in the U.S. is protected land, and of the non protected land, much of it is farmland that is used in producing food. That farmland in the U.S. produces not only enough food to feed the U.S. population, but also a large amount of the populations of other countries.
As far as selfish development of human, well, since we protect other creatures on this planet, but they don't protect us, how are we selfish? Animals in nature kill whatever they have to in order to survive. We do to. There is nothing selfish about human nature.
You speak of a crisis, but you speak with a general lack of knowledge.

Most people are too involved in their own lives to worry about the human impact on the enviroment. In a world where society dosent realize that people are dying for the gas they put in to their SUVs or where their food comes from, they will continue not to care. It is only when their comforts are disrupted will they HAVE to change. As the saying goes "the street light is only installed, AFTER the kid gets hit by a car"

The earth is definitely overpopulated with nearly 7 billion greedy humans. Population control laws must first be instituted in the top most populous countries. Quality of life is diminished for every living thing when there's too many Homo sapiens.
