It is a very formal way of asking if the reader has any objections with what you have written.

Well, in the architectural world we would say "for your review and comment".

I wouldn't use perusal and approval because it rhymes - it sounds a bit Dr. Suess-ish.

I'd use "for your review and approval". It sounds more formal, but less forced.

Why not? To peruse is to read. If you read it and feel or know that it is OK, you approve it or not. It becomes your perogative.
