My boyfriend was using a condom but it broke halfway through. It has spermicide in it so how concerned should I be?

Yes, anytime you are vaginally exposed to sperm, there is a chance of pregnancy. Usually, it is wise to use a spermicidal gel, the pill or a diaphragm, etc. in addition to a condom. If no other form of birth control is used, you can alway have your boyfriend "double up" (wear two condoms). It increases your protection should one condom break.

Depending on when your due to ovulate. If it is or was a day or two after you had sex, your chances are very high!

If you dont know when you ovulate, its about 14 days after your LAST period. During this time is when you are most fertile!

If so, there is a high chance of the egg being fertilised. As for spermicide, it is not very effective, as there is not enough to detroy ALL of the sperm.

If i were you, i would wait until i missed my period (wait at least 10 days) because the pregnancy test will be more accurate a few weeks later!

Dont stress until you know for sure. And if you are pregnant, there are many options women have today. So your not alone...
Im sure nearly everyone on this site would know how you feel and what your going through!

You could be pregnant. For peace of mind, get a home pregnancy test. There are some now that can detect pregnancy very early. Go to a drugstore and read the labels to see how soon you can test.

I don't think you should worry too much if the condom had spermicide in it. You should also take in consideration if you are in your ovulation period or not.

It broke halfway through sex? I'd dump that guy. If he knew the protection had failed he should've stopped intercourse.

Take a test, you never know.

I would be concerned. Get the morning after pill if it's been just a few days.

There is a day after pill you can get. Funny as it sounds, it's called Plan B. Go see your family planning nurse, NOW.
