Slash is an excellent word, that really describes what it does. To slash something is to cut it, not in a nice, sedate manner, with scissors, but with a knife, or a sword, or a bucchaneer's blade!
You can slash a pie crust, or a roast, to insert herbs. Both of these cuts are made with a knife.
You can slash the underbrush when you are clearing land -- you usually do that with a machete, and it really makes the sound 'slash' as it goes through the brush.
You can slash someone with a sabre or foil, when you're fencing. Not with an epee, though. That has to be placed with a poke, and a slash is definitely not a poke.
A slashing remark, is one that has a real cutting edge to it, so even though there is nothing physical to the remark, the analogy still holds.
Hope this helps!

I think you're referring to "slash fiction" ,which is a type of fan fiction, generally revolving around same-sex relationships between fictional characters who are not gay in the source material. Although it sounds rather nasty, the word is being used in its typograpiphical sense, the "/" symbol. When such stories began appearing in Star Trek fanfic, they were referred to as "Kirk/Spock" stories (sensibilities being a bit more delicate in those by-gone days), and the "slash" terminology stuck.

If you are refering to stories online it denotes a romantic[ or sometimes more. ..heated] realtionship between two [ or more] characters. There are several sites for Harry Potter fan fiction that have such titles as Harry/Hermonie, the slash just used as an altenative to "and".

Sorry it doesn't cut it for "List of Bad Words". It doesn't work, here's some examples.
"Hey slash you man."
"Go slash yourself."
"You're a slash"
"You're a slashing retard."
It just doesn't sound harsh.

It is usually fan fiction that revolves around two characters from a show or book or movie that puts them in a romantic relationship.. they are usually non-conventional couples.. that are not couples on the show like maybe two female friends or two male friends.
