I've done 2 character Dining meals and I've come to notice that the characters dress differently depending on the theme of the restaurant. Is that correct?
I've been to Cape May's and the characters sort of dress in beach attire and I've been to Chef Mickey's and they sort of dress like chefs.
Is it like that at all Character Dining places? Like do they have different outfits for different restaurants?
Also, one more question:
This is in regards to Liberty Tree Tavern.
I've read info on Liberty Tree tavern and on info it says Meals served Family Style.
What does that mean?
My mom seems to think that it means you sit at a huge table with a large group of people that you may not know and pass around food, like Thanksgiving at your home.
Is my mom right?

Sorry for all the questions, i just don't understand.

The characters do dress to a theme for most of the character dinings. For example, you mention Liberty Tree, they dress in a colonial type attire. At Restaurantosaurus it is a safari attire, Garden Grill has farmer attire, etc.

Family style means that the server will bring you out large bowls of food which you serve yourself and then pass it around the table. You take as much as you want and then give it to the next person. The food is also similar to what you may find at a "classic home" Liberty Tree Tavern in particular serves food like turkey, ham, salad, etc. It will be similar to a family thanksgiving dinner, so your mom is correct. Disney basically has three types of meals for sit-downs. You have the buffet (all you can eat, pick from the selection), family style (large servings passed around the table) and then pre-plated (a meal that is pre-plated and served to guests as they arrive, usually at more popular restaurants that need to move people through) And then of course you have the counter-service meals.

I hope this helps!

Yes, that is correct about the characters at character dining. Each eatery has its own theme, and the characters dress the part! It keeps it fun that way!
I'm not positive about the family style dining. I've eaten at the Liberty Tree Tavern and you ordered your food and it was served to your table like a typical restaurant. However, when I ate at Ohana's a few weeks ago (which is listed as buffet/family style) - they brought food to the table for everyone to share. So Liberty Tree may have changed to what your mom was talking about. You can call WDW Dining and ask them to be sure. Just call 407-wdw-dine.

Characters dress for the theme, yes.

And mom is correct, somewhat. You don't necessarily sit with people you don't know. The server will bring bowl or platters of food, (just like Thanksgiving) rather than each persons meal on a plate.

Yes, they dress different at different eating spots. Chef Mickey's, they are dressed as ... you guessed it... chefs. The Land at Epcot... more western style. Things like that.
Family style means it is generally served on a platter of sorts. Last time we ate there it was served in a big cast iron pan.

My fav character eating spots... Crystal Palace at MK and
Grand Floridian
