Are you sure you don't mean PLT? PLT stands for Platelet Count. The normal range varies from lab to lab - but a normal platelet count is usually 150,000 -350,000 mm3. The result is usually listed without the thousands ex. 150.

I do not know of a test called DLT and I work as a hematology/oncology nurse..... I am not sure what Patricia is taking about because we run NO tests like that to base chemo on.... Chemo doses are based on height, weight, sex of the patient and the kidney and liver function of the patient. If you know the full name of the test you are seeking information on, that would be very helpful. I have looked in both of the lab reference books here at work and that lab name is not coming up.
Sorry I couldn't be of more help.....

DLT stands for dose limiting toxicity. Its usually done for a person who is diagnosed with different types of cancer. Its help as a baseline to determine how much cancer agent a person should receive. They perform an DLT on the blood so they won't give to much chemo (IV or oral). If the DLT is to high the medication needs to be titrated, if its to low the medication needs to be increase. This help prevents a person from toxicity(blood poisoning or medication overdose).
