you know as i sit here and read some of the answers you got to this question it makes me sick. one this i must say is IF YOU JOIN THE AMERICAN ARMED FORCES and agree to fight for this country then you fight with your head held high for you are fighting for our country for a reason if you dont like america then get out. yes the war is sad and uncalled for and many have died, includeding many of my husbands best friends and almost my husband. and think of 9/11 we were all so ready to get even with who ever did it and yet we joined in as a country full of people who loved our country and now that things are they way they are we give up. tell that to the mothers and sisters and brothers and fathers of fallen soliders.

When I hear about the war in Iraq I think of the useless loss of life of all peoples involved, not just Americans. The terrible pain and suffering that my country caused to another people for no valid reason. The clown in the White House got us into this mess for reasons only he knows. His excuses were all lies. I think of the waste of taxpayer money that could have gone to schools and education. Roads and highways. healthcare for Americans. So much good could have come from the billions of dollars wasted to fight a war that should never have been fought. The war in Iraq makes me very sad. It makes me ashamed of my country. I am from a military family and am opposed to this war. Just because someone is opposed to the war doesn't mean they are unAmerican. Actually, being able to freely voice opposition to the war is very American.

When I hear about the war, it makes me sad to be from a red state...luckily, I will be moving to a blue one in January.

Well, that's the thing: I'm a puertorican and I don't think that is fair that the puertorican soldiers are dying for a country that is not theirs. I respect all soldiers of course but the truth is that everytime I see a mother crying for her son, I think to myself "what is this? we're not even part of USA at the moment. is not fair"
