The traditional wedding anniversary gifts for year 6 are iron and, not coincidentally, candy. The modern gift is wood. Since you're celebrating the anniversary of the wedding, as well as the family itself, it might be fun to try and incorporate these ideas - and instead of planning a destination, plan a day.
Buy a nice wood frame, and have your latest family portrait framed in it (or, get a latest family portrait to frame in it).
Walk through the woods - teach your daughter why it's important to preserve nature. Plant a tree.
Find a local candy-maker. Since you give no indication of where you are in the country, it might be a bit of a drive, but generally speaking, there should be one within about a 50 mile drive.
The suggestion of miniature golf might be a good way to end the day - but play with standard irons instead of the cheap putters they hand out.
Depending on budget and location, you can try more upscale things like taking a ride on a wooden sailboat for the day, then going out for cotton candy.
And you don't have to incorporate the old themes, either. What's really important is that you show you celebration by taking the day for yourselves, and if that means your daughter too, there's nothing wrong with that so long as each of you is honored too. Marriage is a sacred and very undervalued thing these days. When you make the most of an anniversary, the memories can hold you together through rougher times.
Re: Gift ideas. If he doesn't have those irons I mentioned, it might be the year to get him a set of golf clubs; his favorite candy if he's a candyholic, or some woodworking tools. If he's not inclined to golf or woodworking, give it some thought - talk to him a bit, since many guys don't know they like these things until they settle down for a few years with a family and give it a try.
Most importantly - enjoy some time alone! As has already been suggested, after your child's asleep you should do something intimate together that honors your committment to each other.
Happy Anniversary!

I would wait until your daughter goes to bed that night and then prepare a lovely candle light dinner for you and your husband. If you don't have the time to cook (or just don't want to), ordering in any type of takeout can be romantic with candlelight. You can also dress up for the occassion if you like or undress which he might like:)
As for a gift that depends on his personality. I am celebrating my 3rd anniversary (on the 19th) and my husband isn't one for many material things. His hobby is photography and he actually wants expensive film. I did some research and found out that the traditional theme for the 3 year anniversary is leather. I am going to get him a new wallet and put in it a gift card for the photo shop so he can buy his film.
Just to note the 6 year theme is candy for traditional and wood for modern. Perhaps you can come up with something. Good luck!

I just celebrated mine on July 1st, which was our 6 years. I have a two year old daughter and a 4 year old son and we took them out the day before. We went and ate somewhere and then went to a movie. And after the movie we went to a park and then out to eat ice cream. They had a blast and it wore them out so we had that night to ourselves. We took a nice bath together and had bought each other a new night time outfit to share with one another that night. So we actually spent the early hours of our anniversary celebrating. He got me a locket necklace and some perfume. and we both bought each other some chocolate which is always a great gift.
Hope you work something out to get to enjoy each other the best you can.

Here is a link that lists the traditional anniversary gifts by year and when you scroll down, it gives you some ideas of what you can do to present that gift.
Maybe you and your daughter could make something, together. Or maybe something in on that website will inspire you. Good luck and Happy Anniversary!
Also, the second link lists traditional AND modern anniv. gifts by year.

I assume you want to do something as a family.
1. Check into going to a water park for the day to wear out the little girl, (by the way, get the little one up early on that day)
2. Have a nice dinner, nice enough so the wife will have a good time.
3. Rent a little kids movie so the kid will dose off to sleep by about 8 pm.
4. Take the little one up to bed, then let the wife know that tonight, it red hot anal action!
Be prepared to spend time down below the Mason-Dixon Line if you know what I mean.

Happy Anniversary. Well I would find a restaurant that all 3 of you would enjoy. Then maybe go to the zoo or something fun & recreational that all 3 would enjoy. Or a beach, if near by one.
Another idea, maybe pack a nice picinic lunch, and go to a park.
Some gift ideas your man, might be a powertool if that's his hobby. Or maybe an engraved bracelet if he wears jewerly.

What about going to a hotel with an indoor pool and jaccuzzi. Book the room near the pool area. When your 5 year-old goes to sleep, tell them should they wake up, you're just around the corner. You can sit out in the patio area, have some champaigne. Swim, and at least feel like you made a memory.
