ok... heres a rather silly qustion but its still a question, right? i was reading an article in a website and the article had lots of the letter 'A' with a line above it. it was almost in every paragraph and it was rather difficult for me to read the article. just out of curiosity... is it a bug or something??

There are couple possibilities.
1) Those are control characters.
2) You need to install some language packages in order to view them. You can install languages by going to Control Panel>Regional Settings and click Advance tab. You will see a list of languages. Just check whatever languages that you want to install and click OK. But you will the Windows installation CD in order to install the languages though. Once you have installed the languages, go back to the page and click View>Encoding. You will see a list of languages. You click on each language to see which language will give you something that looks like a real language.

What language was it in? Well sometimes your computer may not be able to directly translate it, or when it happens with apostrophes and a letter or something, it turns out to become something else in a different language. It happens sometimes for me as well. Not a bug at all.

Sounds like the person that posted the article maybe didnt convert the code correctly. Would have to see it to tell for sure.

Make sure you are in Unicode(UTF-8). Go to View>> Character Encoding>> Unicode(UTF-8)

It sounds like it was a character your computer wouldn't recognize...

Just guessing
