Are you kidding? You bought her something nice...she'll figure out how to put it to good use. Plus, those rules aren't written in stone, she might just start a trend. Relax, wrap it pretty, and enjoy her birthday with her. She'll appreciate that you went to the trouble of picking her out something special. You're a good sister for wanting to make sure she will be able to use your gift...give yourself credit for that. Hope someone buys you something nice for YOUR birthday.

No it will not look bad. The beauty of it is that it is a gift. Coach is so classic it never goes out of style additionally those old fashion rules of no White before Easter or after Labor day are History. People do wear white in the winter you got to know how to work it, if she gets a pair of white boots she is okay.

I think that because you have purchased her such a great gift...and a Coach is certainly a great gift... that no matter what the color she will be thrilled. Right now, I think that any rule of fashion has gone completely out the window and people are doing whatever they want. People wear white after Labor Day.. and you never know, white may be the new black this fall!

Personally - I would get her something. The standard here isn't her behavior but yours. I wouldn't get her something very personal, maybe a gift card or something in that range, but something that acknowledges both your relationship to her and your knowledge of what manners is. Unless you are beyond any hope of continuing a cordial relationship with her and you're just ready to cut all ties, it's a good lesson to teach your children - let them learn that she's wrong for treating them differently by how you treat her. On a side note - don't keep trying to win her friendship. You've put the effort out, it's up to her to make the effort now to be beyond bound-by-family - maybe you never move beyond, and that's okay. Accept it and you'll be able to live with it better.

Hmmm...I would say yes, say it for spring/summer. It's a good choice but not for fall. I'd exchange it for something in a different shade.
