Look, if you are carrying that baggage for 'many years', the letting go problem is yours. Talk with him about your concern. Your question suggests it was a one-time thing. If so, a resolution to your satisfactory comfort should not be that hard to achieve. Forgetting may not be as important as letting go. NEGATIVE MEMORIES OF SPOUSAL BEHAVIOR IS DESTRUCTIVE OF MARRIAGE. Work toward the goal of honestly letting go of negative past events.

seems its a problem thats hard to get off your mind and not easy to speak to hubby and thus toturing you?
simple solution is to have a heart to heart talk with him and he's the only one to ease your pain.
you should understand your hubby well enough if there's nothing more to it?
he maybe that type who is innocently playful and socially friendly and easily mistaken for his actions type? enlighten him that his actions with the maid is hurting you indirectly and causing misunderstandings. I did undergo such a situation before and it helps to be in talking terms and discussing about the problem. Hope that helps.

If you have enough money for a maid, you should be able to pay a councilor!
