I didn't mean to imply a _black_ slave. This isn't a racial question, I just mean slavery in general.

OH YOUR GOD! Have you read your bible lately, well lets just take a look........

When a slave owner strikes a male or female slave with a rod and the slave dies immediately, the owner shall be punished. But if the slave survives a day or two, there is no punishment; for the slave is the owner's property. (Exod. 21:20-21)

oh my, well lets just take a look at the new testament.....

A disciple is not above the teacher, nor a slave above the master (Matt. 10:24)

Slaves, obey your earthly masters with fear and trembling, in singleness of heart, as you obey Christ; not only while being watched, and in order to please them, but as slaves of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart. (Eph. 6:5-6)

Oh, well thats interesting...

Tell slaves to be submissive to their masters and to give satisfaction in every respect; they are not to talk back, not to pilfer, but to show complete and perfect fidelity, so that in everything they may be an ornament to the doctrine of God our Savior. (Titus 2:9-10)

Slaves, accept the authority of your masters with all deference, not only those who are kind and gentle but also those who are harsh. For it is a credit to you if, being aware of God, you endure pain while suffering unjustly. If you endure when you are beaten for doing wrong, what credit is that? But if you endure when you do right and suffer for it, you have God's approval. (1Pet. 2:18-29)

Huh, well would you look at that. Well I mean if the bible approves, who can argue with the best selling book of all time?

Lets just take a look at what the second best selling book of all time says....

"The socialist system will eventually replace the capitalist system; this is an objective law independent of man's will. However much the reactionaries try to hold back the wheel of history, sooner or later revolution will take place and will inevitably triumph."

From "Quotations From Chairman Mao Tse-Tung"

Well it seems like both books have a good grasp on how we should live our lives.

No, because slaves are not neccesarilly just blacks. If you take a minute to think about it the way the world is today, if it were legal to have slaves it could be any race. It could be you, or anyone in your family!

i would love a maid
the difference is a slave does what you say with out bak talk and no pay
and a maid does what you ask and does it when they can and gets paid and dont get beat and you can treat these people nicely not beat them and make them work 18 hours a day

10% of confederate soldiers owned slaves before the civil war, some of my ancestors fought for your freedom for the north, so that question is a little insulting if you are assuming white people want slavery.

... Depends what he did to become a slave. If he did something to deserve it than yeah sure (The bible doesn't diss slavery) but if he was a slave just because he was black or a jew or something then no i wouldn't

I wouldn't have a slave, per say, as I wouldn't want to 'Own' someone. but I would employ them. Pay them a decent wage and provide for them.

No, I would just end up being like best friends with them or something. I couldn't see treating people like that. It is not normal to completely control someone else.
