I've only been on Yahoo answers for about four days now, but I've noticed something pretty quickly. Many of the questions are delivered with a prejudice and the askers are only trying to make a point or find agreement.
But in case this isn't the case, I'll take a stab.
Yes, capitalists do place a price on life.
Figuratively and literally.
Figuratively: Ayn Rand is perhaps the quintessential capitalist. The central theme of her work is the worth (practically in worship) of the individual and the life, liberty and pursuit of happiness the individual should be free to pursue. However, the philosophy (they call it 'objectivism') she founded does not place significant value on those who can't help themselves, and denies that anyone (individually or collectively) has a responsibility to help those less fortunate.
Literally, capitalists place worth on human life all the time. Companies buy life insurance policies for employees, lawyers negotiate the economic loss of deaths from negligence, and cynically, companies have valued life when doing a cost / benefit analysis of the settling lawsuits vs. repairing defective products
I'm a capitalist in the sense that I believe people should have a right to profit from their perspiration and inspiration, and I place a great deal of value on life. I don't value all life equally (astronaut > child molestor), but I do have a general love for humanity. I know lots of other capitalists that do too.

Yes Capitalist do in fact place a price on human life. It is called an insurance policy. And depending on how old you are, depends on how much your life is worth.
Also they place a value on the life of the unborn. Such that for $100 bucks you can have your unborn child torn limb from limb and sucked out of your womb. And the doctors and planned parenthood organization will be more than happy to turn around and sell that baby's body parts to scientist to perform research on their stem cells to the tune of Billions of dollars annually. The researchers would like to find cures with the aborted stem cells so that they can recoup all the money they spent in research to make billions more in health related cures.
So Yes to be exact, there is a capitalist price for a human life. Are you one who is looking to profit from it?

1 Baby's life is worth approximately 50 cents before conception (the approximate price of a condom).
1 Baby's life (after conception) is worth $500 (or the current going rate of an abortion).
1 child or adult humans life is valued at about 10 cents - (the price of a .22 caliber bullet)
The price of a decent funeral and burial is about $6000.

Of course, everything has it's price. If you are a working person then the price of your life can ( and will) be figured out accordingly, they multiply the years you could still work by your annual income and that is your value to society. It works the other way round to, if you don't work they can calculate your cost to society.

Not directly, but they do place a price on everything that sustains human life. Everything from food to water to shelter to medicine.

I figure capitalists place a price on everything, else they're not capitalists. Though I would assume this would be on a case-by-case basis and dependent on whether that partucular life was known and liked.

Ask the survivors of 911 what they received. How much money was paid to Japanese citizens for being interned during WW2. How much money are African Americans asking for in reparations?
I would say, yes.

Forensic economists do, as do actuaries.
Capitalists will put a price on labor and the cost of employees.
