I feel with you honey, I can't imagine not hearing those special words....but I would still take the loss of my hearing any day...I would never want to see a day where I couldn't look at my loved ones...my children...one day my grandchildren...watching them grow and mature and all the changes they will go through...and also being able to see the love on their face when I touch them or hold them...so many times people say things but their facial expression shows the way they are truly feeling...it would be sad to miss that...

I would choose to be deaf. I could not live without seeing my children grow up, graduate, get married and have their own children. If I were blind I would not be able to go for a run, bike, drive, bead, sketch, paint, garden, read a book, take photos and most of all shop! However not hearing them would be okay actually great at times. I am sure that I would learn sign language and teach my family. I have heard that deaf people 'listen to music" by turning up the base and actually feeling the beat and rhythm. So I could buy a Bose system and still enjoy my music. If i had to choose to loose any of the 5 senses: touch, taste, smell, sight and hearing I would like to loose my sense of taste the most, next being hearing. It would make staying fit and thin too easy.

I would have to choose i would pick to lose my hearing. I would rather see. I understand about the not hearing your daughters voice, but not seeing her ever again and watch her grow up would be even worse!
Also if you were blind you are way more depended on other people, think about it.

Hearing Loss....I love to look at the world, watch the sunset, watch my kids grow, if I had to choose I would rather be deaf than blind, besides I know sign language already I don't want to learn how to read Braille.........

hard to choose, defintely... but my immediate response is to say I could live without hearing. It would be easier at first. But I think over time, I would miss hearing music more than I would miss seeing sights. You can still imagine what things look like based on when you were seeing, but you can't imagine new sounds. Final answer.... neither!

I would take deafness, Not being able to SEE my children and Grandchildren would hurt the most. Besides Sign Language is fun to learn. Which is what I'm doing. It's like having a second language with people who have been left alone way to long.

I am already half way deaf so I will go with that. I can't imagine being able to go without sight. I love to look at things. I can read lips so the misery isn't all that bad now. Just when I need to talk on the phone.

Wow! I pray to God for neither. But in college I minored in Sign Language and was hired by Chabot College to tutor a blind girl. She wanted to be able to communicate with her deaf friends.....
So I've already got a heads up learning sign language.
(Though I'm very rusty at it now....It's been years....)
My answer would be DEAF! There's too many things that I love....Like seeing my boyfriends face...my family. I love to watch all the birds in the backyard fluttering around their bird feeder.
Though I'd miss the coo of a Dove and the sweet song of theYellow Finch....I'd rather see them. Animals too....Love'em.I'd miss my beautiful backyard all in bloom. (Though I wouldn't mind losing my sense of smell when it came to sneezing back there from all the pollen!! LOL
And imagine.....me being a Home Organizer with my clients if I was blind. (I'd for sure charge by the hour......he!he!) (Though I think I'd leave their caos in worse shape then when I got there......
probably break a leg too!

Laugh with yha later

I would choose deafness. I couldn't stand not being able to see. Plus, having been a hearing person I would have the memory of sound.

I'd rather be deaf. At least I can carry on a normal life. Being blind disables you more in your daily routine, than being deaf. I'd rather see a smile, than hear a voice.
