His first coming to earth from heaven included his birth, death and resurrection. After His resurrection, he returned to heaven. So, all of these events occured during His first coming.

His second coming would therefore be authentically a 2nd coming - not a 3rd.

For an accurate counts of the comings, the question must first be asked 'coming from where?'.

I think...it's referred to as the Second Coming, because it was Jesus of Nazareth who died on the cross; it was the Holy Spirit who appeared to His followers; and His Second Coming (which took place 2 hours, 11 minutes past sunset, May 23, 1844) was the return of the Holy Spirit that was in Jesus, come in the new personage, of Baha'u'llah, the Glory of God (in Arabic and/or Farsi). He promised all through the Gospel that He would return in the Glory of God, the Glory of the Father. The Comforter who Christ promised.

He never left earth in a physical or spiritual state after his death and resurrection. After death/resurection He remained on earth for 40 more days before actually ascending to Heaven. Hence one visit for He returned to Heaven to complete His first coming. His second will involve the return to Earth and the union between heaven and earth. In other words he did not die and go to heaven, He lives and ascended there once.

Actually it is to be the second coming to earth. The first he came and died and was buried, and went to the depths of hell. He was still on the earth physically until he was translated to heavens throne. The second coming is to be when he will be returning to bring Judgement on the earth. Get prepared to meet your maker! The kingdom of heaven is at hand. Repent!

You are right, but its only nomenclature. Nobody is making a big deal out of a couple of nights compared to 33 years and 1000 years.

YOU GOT THIS UNDER THE WRONG HEADING

I think you are right! saying it will truly be the 3rd coming./ however, it seems that most scholars just wrap up His short stay on Earth as one event. even though He died in between. So this is actually supposed to be the 2nd event in which He comes.

therefore- second coming

make sense?
