While listening you can do other things too. When you watch videos, it takes both the senses of seeing and hearing impairing the ability to do much else. A lot of musicians also hate making videos because they are not actors nor models like in Hollywood. This may ruin a song and also may contribute to misleading on the intention or meaning of the tune. Remember "Video Killed the Radio Star"-- well that was partly true but made stars also out of some less talented musicians as well because of their looks and videos.

I would have to say listening to the songs. I've noticed that the videos don't do as much as they can for many of the songs. I really HATE it when the song tells a really heart felt story that the video could capture, and so you eagerly anticipate the video, and you get stuck with watching the band perform the song live...they call that a video?
So, yeah, I prefer the song by far!!

The true art form is in the song. It's the song that moves you, not the video. Videos are just an extra bonus if they are good. Most videos suck. I saw a video to one of Pearl Jam's latest songs and it did absolutely nothing for me. But if I heard the song first, I'd probably be a little more interested.

Listening to music for me.

Sometimes the film clip can ruin a song for me... especially if the artisit is acting like a tool, it takes away the appeal of the song...

Personally speaking anyway.....

i personally think that they are both good b/c with just the song, you can understand the lyrics and think of what you think of what the lyrics mean,,,,,,then if you watch the video, you will get the real meening of the song
