I'm Korean, I'd say some things essential you should know.

In associating with Koreans, or any other East Asians, you should check first how old they are.
As far as I know it's unmannered in American to ask other party's age at first meeting, right?
But Korean don't think it doesn't matter to exchange information of each other's age..It's natural.

Koreans are educated to respect the older people like parents, uncles, aunts, and especially teachers.
So, no one of Koreans wouldn't want to see the younger who
act rude in front of the older.--pretending to be constraint with the older, will appeal as if you are good-mannered.

And in Korean, younger people can't ask shaking hands first.
Only the older can ask for shaking hands, the younger
are supposed to bow down with your upper body instead or to shake hands but not with your one hand, but with two hands.

But nobody will expect the Americans would do so.
