A very hard question to answer, I had a friend that I thought I knew, (3 years) and he turned around a robbed me blind. I really think you have to get to know the person well, ask people about her or him. Check and see if he or she has a police record. Make sure that they are not drug addict or alcoholics, They hide these things well, at least some of them do. Do a lot of checking. Leave money around and see if they take it. Test them. (but don't let them know)

I have 3 best friends and together we form a super group.
I have known one of them for about six years or so.
I have known another for a really long time, I'm not really even sure how long but it is just now that I'm reallly getting to know him.
And my last best friend recently moved to our town and I have only known him for about three months, but already he is awesome. We talk almost every night.
So, I don't think there is really a set amount of time, but is more whenever you truly get to know them and can trust them. I

It's not how long you really have known them, but when it feels like you have known them your whole life,

If you think your friend can be trusted at all times. If you consider you love your friend and he will do the same, and that's it. To be your best friend is like your brother. You're sharing moments together with no conditions. If you think he is, then he's your best friend.

it depends on how well you get a long. if its perfect friendship chemistry from the begining, then you've got ur self a best friend. but i don't think that means that you can't argue, or not get along. one of my best friends didn't become so until after 2 years. we just didn't get along at first, but a friend i had a while ago became my best friend instantly after we met, until she moved. and etc.
hope i helped at least a little :)

It depends! When I met my best friend in high school we hung out every day and I just knew she was my best friend after a few monthes. We agreed that we were each others best friend! :-) BUT, usually it takes a year to tell I think.

it ought to take in to a year. in my view to even evaluate "close acquaintances" They put up w one yet another and quite care. No ones proper yet putting forward that your sorry and admitting faults and respecting one yet another is significant in "close acquaintances". Gossiping behind each and every others decrease back is a NO NO. once you've a difficulty face it with that individual to sparkling up subject matters in my view. bear in mind money cant purchase acquaintances. note how they're in communities or maybe as your one on one. close acquaintances are there for you lots of the time once you pick them. they don't look to be hypocrites both, instead they're open and person-pleasant with you and also understand you.

With me, it is more a matter of how much I can trust them and how much we share. I have no time table on how long we must be friends till they are my best friend.

when you test them and they never fail you....when you can trust them then you can consider them your best friend. a best friend is someone who will do anything for you and defend and back you in everything. you must be able to trust.....make them prove it first. you need to do this by doing and saying little things to see if they back you up and shut up....
