Fear of rejection. This is tough for you to relate to, since you're a woman. Although for many girls, simply not being asked out is the same as rejection.

Not all of them are, but I know I was! I wouldn't have gotten anywhere if girls hadn't spoken to me first! Why don't you take the first step? Maybe the guys wonder why the girls are so bashful!

(Of course my answer was true! Ballroom dancing is great! I've done it for fun here, but I'm really quite poor at it! Mum made me take dance when I was young, but I was most interested in cossack dance which I get the basics for at lessons, but pick up more from random people here. Eh, I'm home now in fact...I'm insanely tired, and I have to keep napping as the time difference is by 9 hours! I'm sure I wouldn't have so many admirers with the state I'm in now, but thanks. I look horribly tired!)

Lack of confidence for me! I found group dates much less stressful at that time of my life. It wasn't until I was in my 20's that I got the confidence to approach a girl I liked!
In fact, I let my one true love slip away. I've regretted this for 20 years. Maria Morris whom I met in Ft. Wayne, Indiana...know that someone out here still loves you & thinks about you & wishes you a happy life.

Maybe they think the girl will automatically put them into a "BAD" pile of thousands of other guys in this world without ever knowing them...kinda just like what your blanket question just did...

You're generalizing. I'm fifteen, and I have no problem talking to women. I don't, however, because I don't really like other teenagers.
