Yards is the universal system of measurement in all football leagues. Thats why in NFL Europe it is in yards too

Canadian Football was created before the Metric System, and they have used these measurements ever since.
Plus if the teams were ordered to convert their fields to metres, they would go broke.

Simply put, it was in place prior to Trudeau's idiotic decision to dump the metric system on us without any thought. Remember when instead of 1-litre or 2-litre milk cartons they just took the 1-gallon and 2-gallon ones and wrote on it the metric conversion?
Anyway, luckily, the CFL did not follow suit.

It would sound ridiculous without yards...And forget about the American players getting confused, I would be to.
Personally Canada should go back to the system that it use to be with and drop the metric.

10 meters is a different distance than 10 yards. That would change the game a lot. Consistancy won out.

cause the American players just do not understand the Metric System.. one very very few countries who do not use it... like always we cater to them (SHEESH!)... and besides, the rest of the world do not understand American Football... so Canada has no choice.

because its based on american football plus 10 more yards, a bigger endzone, and the upright on the 0 lines.

actually in a way it is. you see 110 yards equals 100 meters. I dont know the other dimensions but i suspect they might work out the same way.

their are alot of american players who would get confused, plus its just easier to measure and remember, and the fields would just look weird
