I'm looking for a multi-disc CD player. I'm not interested in taking the time & effort to program the music myself, so basically I want random play, repeat, simple things like that. My big criteria is that it not be huge like a computer or tv--something small and compact that can sit on a dresser or bookcase without taking up a lot of room. I don't need the speakers. What do I need to ask for when I go to the store? Any particular brand? What should I expect for a price range? Thanks for any help--I admit to not being mechanically oriented.

Why don't you do your research online 1st? I hate people who have like 199 questions for sales men! Do your research 1st before going to a store That way you just need to ask for what you want and not waste the sales mens times, or my time when Im behind you waiting to get the product I want! Get the most expensive that you can afford basiclly For most cases the higher the price, the better quality product you'll get Stick to Sony Those will meet all your needs

Jirachii--obviously You don't get it. This person admits to knowing nothing about electronics & she wants help BEFORE she goes to the store. If she knew about electronics she would know what are the best websites to go to. Sounds like you don't know anything either or you would have suggested something.

Maybe you should plan your shopping for when you have more time to avoid people like her, or go on off hours.

Sorry, but I don't have any suggestions either. Good luck.
