System Restore may work. Your best bet would be to install a 3rd party software, specifically Norton Ghost. This creates a restore point saved on a CD which protects your computer far better than Microsoft XP's system restore based on the fact that should the files that create the restore point be deleted, it would be a hopeless case, just try accidentally deleting a file on a CD, it's not a one click thing.

To access the System Restore Wizard, click Start, and then click Help and Support. Click Performance and Maintenance; Then click undo changes with system restore.

Click start, all programs, accessories, system tools, system restore.
But do not do a system restore if you believe your computer is infected, it will not get rid of the infection.

Plug in your time machine and set it back to the day you want. That's what everybody does, isn't it. I prefer the USB 2.0 connection for mine.
If you don't have a time machine, forget about it.
