My mother made me a top notch renaissance dress for
Halloween one year and it made everyone with their Wal-Mart
costumes jealous.

Well I made the hottest female MLB (Major League Baseball) uniform. Not bought, all woman made. The only thing I bought was the baseball bat.

Of course a witch. A lot of us have been those. But I was a huge a** baby witch. Grown with baby spells. Real cute.

Vixen was one. But not the video ones. A vixen with a devil tail and the horns. Looked real sexy but not revealing at all.

Last years Halloween, I took my baby brother that's 2 yrs old. I made a black suit and drew whiskers and a dark nose on my face. My brother was a baby batman and I was a pregnant cat woman. Just to add some humor. A lot of people got it.

I just realized that not only am I weird when it comes to costumes but I'm also very unique and creative. Ooohhh, good for me.

We dressed our dog as a cat! She's also been a cat litter box complete with scoop! NO! it was a CARDBOARD ONE... NOT a REAL one Sheesh!

Us... White outfit.... White cut pillow case over the body and white net (tied to over the head or chest) with white balloons tied to the white netting with the word IVORY written on the front. The Balloons were the 'bubbles'

A Brown Body legnth cut of fabric with Felt M & M's velcro'ed at the shoulders and to hold on the M & M's
A ski cap (no face cover) and colored balloons pinned to the hat
BAG OF M & M's
Or you could be W & W's depending on your sexual orientation!

A 'Bug' Body suit with extra stuffed arms sewn to it. Sew a glove to the end for the hand. Run fishing line from the bottom up thru each wrist (closer to the palm than the wrist). Leave enough for a 'loop' and tie leavinf the extra for the loop.Slip the loops over your wrists and put on a matching pair of gloves. Do this on each side and the 'arms' will all move together. It's CUTE!

My husband and I have been everything from Mike and Carol Brady to Ozzie and Sharon Osbourne. We won prizes for both of those, but the ones that got the most laughs were us in hospital gowns with fake rubber butts sticking out the back. We have also been Neo and Trinity from The Matrix and fat sweaty joggers. Couples costuming seems to be a lot easier and more fun.

I was The Boogie Man one year for Halloween. In fact, my picture to the left is a picture of that costume. I wore 70s disco clothes, complete with bell-bottom pants, elevator shoes and butterfly collar. I do monster makeup as a hobby, so I reconstructed my eyebrow ridge, check bone structure and nose, to make them monsterish. I made 16 fangs for my mouth (8 upper and 8 lower), and wore special contact lenses that covered my entire eye (the whites and everything) -- the contacts made my eyes look like red and yellow speckled lizard eyes. I made claws for my fingertips, and I painted over my face and hands with shades of purple makeup. I topped it all off with a big disco-afro wig. I beat 700 other people in a costume contest that year, in front of an audience of almost 10,000 people.

You mentioned that homemade costumes top this list. I should mention that I made lifecasts of my head and hands out of plaster. Then I made the prosthetic cheeks, eyebrows and nose on the lifecasts, out of liquid latex, so they were custome fit to my face. I researched how dentists make real toothcaps, and ordered the chemicals they use from a dental supply store. I made a mold of my teeth, and made the 16 fangs myself. I used the same chemicals to make the claws on the lifecasts of my hands, so they were hard as teeth, and fit to my fingertips.

I designed and my sister sewed all of the following:

Mickey Mouse
Peter Pan
Aqua Man
Witch
Ghost
Winter Fairy

Plus I also go through old clothing store and have created Dracula, vampire and devil costumes. In my basement I turned the area under the stiars into a 'costume closet' and keep all my costumes and acessories! I LOVE HALLOWEEN

Back around 1985, a friend of mine and I dressed up as a toothbrush and a tube of toothpaste. The toothbrush was a cardboard headpiece with bristles and solid colored sweats for the handle. The cap of the toothpast was a pink crocheted ski cap (almost like a toque, if you know the term) and the tube was a bedsheet sewn up on the sides with arm, head, and leg openings.

Back in 1990 i made a "Shredder" {bad guy from Ninja Turtles} full head to toes costume using aluminum foil, carton, plastic and screen mesh for the helmet and facial mask. The fabric was done using an old curtain and belt. It was so realistic.

Once I made a bubble bath costume. I cut the bottom out of one of those really big buckets(the tub) and wore i white sweatpants and sweatshirt. Then I taped white ballons(bubbles) to the sweats. I also wore a pink shower cap and attached a rubber duckie and a towel to the side of the bucket.

I have gone as a Vampire Priest (collar and crucifix chain with the fangs and blood); a U.S. Army soldier ready for jungle warfare, and most recently an Old West Bounty Hunter (with six-shooter and duster). It was funny watching some of the other people that were "armed" pull out their tiny plastic weapons and see me with a real revolver (no firing pin though) standing across from them.

Man when I was like 7 or 8 I was a bottle of Snapple. It was cool. We made it out of cardboard and I had this huge straw sticking out of the side of my hat. And my little niece was a slice of pizza. We made that costume too. So basically we were together a lunch combo.
