I think so, although alot of Aussies probably wouldn't admit it as they see America's patriotism as arrogant. To me it's all the same. Australians as a whole are very patriotic and believe Australia is the best country in the world, which I guess is exactly how Americans feel about the US. It's all arrogant, every country has its good and bad points. Not saying patriotism is bad, but a bit of perspective is always good.

i think most australians are very patriotic - aussies are very proud of their country generally

I would say Aussies have more genuine patriotism.
I would think a lot of Americans are jaded...even though many don't admit it.
