But I would go with Chase or Chaz. I wouldn't do chuck, reminds me of large chunks of vomit.

Pick maybe a name of one of the grandfathers? or godfathers? Just write down all the different names you like (complete w/ the Donovan and the last name), say them out loud, and pick the one that is most appealing to you, the one that flows easiest for you when you say it.

It is difficult to answer without the full last name, but Donovan Charles sounds good to me. Donovan had an Irish sound to it, and Charles seemed to fit.
