I've been married for nearly 4 years. The presents that have ment the most were the ones that HE picked out ! Total surprise.
It is not the expense or the bling bling it is truly the thought.
a simple locket with our photo in it ..on the other side your son, a music box was my other fav, and a teddy bear i'm a collector so that was the other of my ideas..
Good luck & happy anniversary

You have some time. Try to get her talking about what she would get if she won the lottery, or inherited some money just enough to go on a spending spree, and listen to see if you can detect a real wish for something.
If nothing comes up, then give her a "spending spree". I have done this a couple of times. You take her to a mall where she has plenty of choice and tell her "You have x hours. You get to point at something you want and I will tell you whether you get it or if you have to keep looking. You cannot look at the price tags."
Then, after she has decided on her gift that is within your budget, you can surprise her by saying, "Now, you get to do it again. Same rules."
This way she gets what she wants, and you may get some great ideas of things that she wants that is currently out of your price range (but you can consider starting to save for).
Have a great time - and don't forget to stop at the Mall's sweet shop for a quick snack.

I would say time. It sounds as though you have been very busy and you two could use some "just us time". If you are able, arrange with someone to watch your son once a month so that you two can have a "date". We have a set of friends that we "trade" kids a weekend night a month. We get one kid free night and they get one kid free night.
Get a box that a card will fit in, buy a blank card with maybe a heart or rose, write in the card the arrangements you have set up stating how much you love her and want to spend some time just with her, and wrap the box in beautiful paper. I know it is not a physical gift like a ring, but a ring will not sustain your wonderful marriage. Making time for each other will. I wish you two many years of happiness. Congrats on your business.

It'll take a little conspiratorial work on your part, but ask her parents for copies of pictures of her at all the major points in her life (graduation, first ride on a bike, etc) then try to find pictures of yourself from as close as you can to when hers were taken, and make a photo album answering the "So where have you been all my life" question

Be thoughtful, buy her a designer handbag and glasses. expensive clothes and jewelry are also good gifts. But if you want to put a cute little side gift, " Flowers mean I'm sorry, chocolates mean I love you but both mean I want to spend forever with you because I love you
Hope I could help! Happy Aniversary
