2 days ago I went to the doctor and realized that I have a UTI. The doctor said that a missed period could be caused by the UTI. I have always had a 28 day cycle, and I have never had sex. On the 14th day of my cycle (when I should have ovulated) my boyfriend and I were fooling around, and we had our underclothes on but no pants. I know, that was one of the most stupid decisions I have ever made in my life, and trust me, any other time I am in that situation I will use a condom, but I can't take it back. When I was at the doctor, she asked me if I was sexually active and I said no. Then she took a urine culture and I was diagnosed. I was just wondering if the doctors would have checked for pregnancy with the urine sample along with other things? I know that there is still a chance of me being pregnant, but could the UTI have delayed my period this long? I was supposed to get it July 4th and still no sign.

I'll assume since you haven't gotten your own pregnancy test kit from the pharmacy that your under the age of 18. If not, the by all means buy the test and put your mind at rest. But yes a UTI can delay your period or cause you to miss one all together. If your really worried, I would go ahead and ask your doctor if they performed a pregnancy test. They probably didn't since you said you weren't sexually active. If your really worried about it, see if you can get your hands on a home test, they work great and are very reliable.

My guess is your OK, but this should be a lesson learned!

well, stress can also be causing your delayed period. If your doctor took a urine sample, they can check if you're pregnant. However, if you said you weren't sexually active, they probably didn't bother with the pregnancy test.

If you're really that scared and there is a real chance that you're pregnant, take a pregnancy test ASAP. If you're embarrassed to go to your GYN, go to your local Planned Parenthood. You could also pick up a home test, but those can be inaccurate and hard to read.

Good luck!

Calm down sweetheart, unless he came all over your panties, most likely you skipped a period due to stress. This happened to me several times growing up - your period CHANGES over time no matter who you are.

If you told them you were NOT sexually active, then I guess they did NOT run a pregnancy test... every test they do costs money, and if they don 't need to do one, they won't.

Buy some condoms now and have them at hand if you guys "accidentally"start to go too far in th future.

I agree that you need to calm down....
I was irregular with my periods for years!! Give yourself about 2 more weeks AT LEAST till you freak out!!!
You need to have birth control around tho in case you & your BF go a bit too far
