Wow! I hope I don't get to heaven. I'll be pissed if the Christians are right but I really don't think I have too much to worry about.

The Law was given to show what sin is. No one will ever not break them. We are sinners, even Christians are sinners saved by the love (grace) of God.
We should live the best we can and ask for forgiveness when we notice a sin (against God) in our lives.
I ask for forgiveness every day because I know I am going to break one of those laws today. Long as we are in this body, we will.
And...yep, sorry sweetie, there will be NO going to Heaven without Jesus (Yeshua)...: )
God judges our hearts, not how we live the Law...
John......the good book...

Humans are naturally born sinners. Jesus died for our sins and God has been forgiven. I am no bible thumper but I do go to church as much as I can and I have found my pastor to be a wonderful one. He made a good point this weekend about church. He said that church is a place for everyone. If it were only open to those who are pure and of no sin, then we would not have any members and he would not be our pastor. Church is not a building but the people in the building and it is not up to those people to decide who goes to heaven, but God when He judges us. And as long as we recognize we sin, and do what we can to not repeat harshly, God can and will forgive us.
The best thing you can do is talk to your spirital advisor and discuss this with him. Here you will recieve a number of different answers from many different types of people.

If you read Romans or Galatians you will see that you are correct. Nobody can get into heaven by obeying the law/ten commandments. Nobody. People get into heaven purely through the grace that God bestows on us.
The reason he can give this grace (ticket to heaven) away, is because he sent his perfect son Jesus to take our place (our guilt, our damnation upon himself). The reason that we know this to be true is that he rose again from the dead. All that is asked of us is to show the faith that he has given to us.

I'm Catholic, but the Muslims say that a person is never to be tallied until (s)he has reached puberty. Basically all non-puberty-reached kids will go to heaven... and if we want to go to heaven, we have to have good intentions most of the time... and try to be nice to others and all that... I strongly believe the Muslims since I have studied them in the army, besides.. I think it is more accurate than Judaism and Christianity... PLUS Islam is the youngest religion of the three... wouldn't that mean it's more accurate? who knows? try converting to Islam.

There will be many that make it (Rev. 7:9).
The age of accountability varies beacause we vary in the age that we understand things.
There is more to do to be saved than to ask for forgiveness, but it is an integral part of your salvation!
The question "What must I do to be saved was asked in the book of Acts, and it was answered by Peter (Acts 2:38).
Repent and be baptized every one of you for the remission of your sins, and you shall receive the gift of the Holy Ghost.
From there you grow spiritually, continuing to turn away from sin, and when you do sin-you ask for forgiveness and keep on working out your salvation from day to day!
God can become very real in your life, you grow to love Him as you get to know Him more!

Everyone sins! Plain and simple. God gave us the simple commandments to guide us and help us to better Christians. It is up to each of us to accept Christ as our Savior, to be in Heaven for eternity. Our good works don't get us in either but will be rewarded as precious stones in our crown. If your choice is to ignore Him, then you will be in close quarters with Satan. Given the choice wouldn't it be smart to study about it and understand thoroughly and then make a choice? I pray that your choice is the right one.

Jesus paid the price of our sins so we could gooo to Heaven if we accept the gift Jesus gives us--our salvation.
In the Old Testament, people made sacrifices to atone for their sins, but Jesus paid the ultimate sacrifice for all who believe.

Ugh! It is the 21st century - the 10 commandments were written by human beings because religious fools can't be decent people without being liable to a god.
Sin is error, mistakes, and instinct. Can't we teach good things without believing in invisible entities in the sky?
