how to get in touch with like minded couples willing to extend hospitality on reciprocal basis for travel?

we are a retired couple settled at Solan (Himachal) having lot of spare accomodation,transport and knoledge for local tourism (we retired from the Indian Forest Service of HP cadre). we would be interested to extend hospitality on reciprocal basis to like minded couples from other states who are interested to visit Himachal. what is the best media to get in touch with such people who have similar interests and are willing to extend hospitality on reciprocal basis for our visit to their state

Your is a good idea but I don't know how far you succeed.

I hope your accommodation is away from the railway station, crowded main road and the by-pass of Solan highway. Then alternatively, you may try offering stay with family atmosphere, transport, your tourism knowledge etc. on somewhat charge basis to families, on a trial basis. If this succeed, you may utilise your resources and develop platform for reciprocal arrangements in future.

The concept of mutually hosting travellers from other places is already in place internationally. It is called Couch surfing.
You should go and check the website www.couchsurfing.com
It has got thousands of members with full description, reviews etc who offer their house/room (free of cost) for people travelling to their city. There are hundreds of Indian members also.
It is a very interesting idea and am sure it will work with travel enthusiasts in India also.

This question itself is an advertisement. Have you taked to your wife about the responsibility of shouldering the accomodation of the people who will visit. They have to have good rooms and food. You have to have a definite chart of the time you will accomodate peopIe and the time you will visit yourself. I am working and residing in Kottayam District of Kerala state near Kumarakom the place to which Mr.Vajpayee came. If you are interested you can come with prior intimation. If ever I visit you I would like to pay for it. If you donot charge you will find it difficult to function. Good people always like to pay for services received.

Dear Sir, You can send me the photographs of your accommodation so that I can forward it to travel agents whom I know.. they might contact you and you can fix a price for that. Same way travel agents will let you know the details of like minded people and you can have the same information and can enjoy your stay in various other states.
