I am also epileptic with two types of seizures. I haven't had a seizure in about 8 months but this is due to medications I take daily...Carbatrol, Keppra, Ethosuximide(Seizure med) Lisinopril.. Overall, the meds cant leave my system because when I miss a dose, I get sick again. So can I donate with these meds in my system? Overall, I take 18 pills a day!

Call the blood bank where you would donate and ask them about it. I used to donate blood as well until I got multiple sclerosis. Now I'm not allowed to be a blood or organ donor....because of both the meds that I'm on and also because of the MS.

Call the Red Cross 1-800-Give Life, and ask them if they would want you to donate.

Epilepsy is either genetic or all brain-related. There shouldn't be any reason for you to be denied, unless the pills are something they're concerned about.

Many factors are used for determining donors! Bloodborne diseases, drug use, incarceration, diabetes are some of the ones that will get you shunned away!
