Forgiveness is a choice; for some, it is cleansing and renewing. For others, it makes little sense. People have their own reasons to forgive or not to forgive. I truly believe that if the wrongdoer is repentent and legitimate in his or her own wish for forgiveness, it is much easier to forgive. However, there are some things you just can't forgive, such as if somebody took your child and raped and killed her, or if they stole your identity and robbed you of everything you own ... but then again, everybody's level of tolerance and capacity to forgive is different.

You can forgive a person who has not asked to be forgiven. You can do so for your own sense of closure. Forgive, forget, move on.

If you are the one to be forgiving them, then No. To err is human, to forgive devine. This does'nt mean they have to want it. Forgiving in many regards is more about the Forgiver than the forgiven.

No.

You can forgive a person even if they do not want it. Forgiveness is a decision that YOU make. You are the only one who makes the decision and you can make that decision without outside help.

Forgiving is very important thing to do. For your own self.
If you hold unforgiveness in your heart , it will fester and cause you to be very dissatisfied with yourself. You may not be able to FORGET, the deed the person did.If it was a horrific thing. Forgive them, but then go on with your life without them.

forgiving someone is for your benefit, not theirs, so you can let it go and move on. It's up to them to deal with their feelings for their actions, you can't fix them.
