No. I'm implying that burnt-out soldiers do crazy things.

I'm not condoning rape either.Just because Sadaam did doesn't make it right.

In the military, I was taught to be responsible for every man that was under my command. This kind of crap goes straight to the top, where the leadership doesn't provide enough soldiers to do the job, and it puts too much stress on the soldiers to uphold proper conduct, and it doesn't provide enough watches to watch the watches while keeping soldiers in combat for too long with no definite relief in sight.

The soldiers who committed these outrageous acts should be bound over to the Iraqis to deal with them, no hiding behind the UCMJ, and their supervisors and general officers should be there with them. The military isn't just about authority and discipline, it is also about responsibility. Rumsfeld should be in front of Congress explaining how these soldiers were allowed into the military, why they weren't kept under control, and why he let this happen. If he makes his usual excuses, he should be replaced.

Thank you chimichanga. At this point intime they are considered innocent. If they are proven guilty then they deserve the punishment that they get. Restoring democracy???? They didn't have a democracy before so what exactly are we restoring? It seems like to me that someone is trying to discredit our entire military based on the acts of a handful of people. It doesn't matter if it was here at home or in our military. Sometimes people commit crimes and they alone are the ones who have to pay the consequences of their actions. It's not a reflection of the condition of our armed forces. Just like when someone robs a convenience store. Do you condemn the entire population for the act of one person? Why is it that the media doesn't report any of the good things that are being accomplished in Iraq? One word. Sensationalism. As for all of you Bush critics... What do you think about all the rapes that go on here in our own country? Are they Bush's fault too?

Frustration with lack of progress and the need to get back at the injustice triggers different things in different people. The action is terrible but so is the taking of innocence by exposure to war and combat. Many men have given their lives and their efforts should not be tarnished by the actions of a few. IF found guilty the people involved deserve to spend the rest of their lives in prison. What they did will never excuse the reprisals taken against Innocent Americans there.

How do you feel about it? How would anybody feel?

Are you implying that rape is being used as a weapon?

Rape was a way of life under Saddam. Was it a crime? No, since Saddam was the law, rape was legal, but only when it was conducted by the ruling regime.

Now, its a crime. And there will be a trial.

If you want to prevent things like this, you should encourage your fellow citizens to join up so that low-lifes don't join up.

IF they did it, they were wrong. No right-thinking American will support them then.
IF they did it, the vast majority of Americans will demand that they be punished just as they would if it was an American girl.
Let us have a trial and determine if they are guilty or innocent first. You appear to have already jumped to conclusions and assume they are guilty just because they have been accused. Allow a trial to occur first.
We, as Americans, do not know what their reasoning (if they are indeed guilty) is. It is wrong of you to presume that we should know. We didn't do the raping. They should be held guilty, if they are guilty, not us.

I am hoping at least that it was the same incident that I had a link about before, if not, this is getting horrible! I think they are an embarrassment to our country and need to be put in prison for life! The military should have to give a monetary gift to her family and apologize in person. We have to make sure that this BS never happens again!!!!!! It makes me sick!

Things like this went wrong in Vietnam when the soldiers were frustrated in being able to perform their duties.

Shameful then and shameful now.

And what does Georgie have to say about this, eh?

I think they should be gang raped, castrated without anesthetic, and put in regular prison with the general population.
