If you are asking because of blemishes, I truly think the best way to cleanse your face is to wet a washcloth with the warmest tap water you can tolerate and lay it on your skin for a few seconds to open the pores. Then gently wash your face. Finish by bathing your face in cool water to close the pores. Don't over wash as that will stimulate your oil glands. Keep your fingers off your face unless you are washing or applying makeup. Keep your makeup applicators clean. Finally use water based foundation instead of oil.

The most effective facial wash is one with natural ingredients.
Use natural oats soaked in water for 30 min, and scrub all over face and neck. Wash off with water.
Also, U can also use gram flour(1 tablespoon), and milk (1 teaspoon), scrub all over face, neck and hands. Then wash off with water.
Apply a moisturiser for the day.
U can also use almond scrub with milk on face. Almond ground to a smooth paste and then mixed with teaspoon of milk for a smooth consistency. wash with water. it works!

There are literally hundreds on the market, but a mild non irritating wash would be plain Dove Beauty Bar.It's cheap and even recommended by many physicians for people with sensitive skin. Good luck.

You should use a foaming face wash instead of a cream style because the cream facial washes leave residue adn don't rinse off well.

pro-active is good but for a cheaper solution: any make up remover and a facial scrub once in a while

You won't be disappointed! This is for regular/sensitive skin. If you have oily skin, they make one for oily skin, but I can't remember the name of it. I've never used it, so I can't recommend that one.
